ADHD Assessments with Blume Psychology
We offer Gold Standard ADHD assessments for children aged 6–17 years, and adults aged 18 and above. All assessments meet the NICE guidelines. ADHD assessments are available UK-wide via remote appointments.
Initial consultation
The first stage is an initial consultation with Dr Laura Alcock, our Head Clinician. In this session she will gather a developmental history and make recommendations for you going forward. This session typically lasts 50 minutes, though for more complex cases she may request an 80 minute consultation at a cost of £225.
If the consultation relates to a child patient, initial consultations are typically just with parents or carers if the child is of primary school age, with children of secondary school age typically asked to attend with their parent or guardian.
Initial consultations can take place face to face, or online sessions are available on request.
Next steps — the assessment
If an assessment for ADHD is indicated from the initial consultation and you wish to go ahead, the assessment costs £1000 and is made up of the following parts:

Client to attend a face to face diagnostic interview and observation (DIVA), as well as a QB test. This appointment typically takes up to 2 hours. This is usually with Dr Laura Alcock.

Third party consultation, usually through school, alternative provision or workplace.

For primary school age children, we will complete a school observation.

Administration and completion of psychometric questionnaires (Conners).

In some cases, we will recommend a cognitive assessment as part of an ADHD assessment (additional £500).
After the assessment
On completion of all parts of the assessment, the assessment team meets to discuss findings and reach outcomes, and prepare recommendations. We then prepare a comprehensive report summarising the results. This report can be expected within six to eight weeks from the start of the assessment, though we aim for sooner. We will then arrange a feedback session to discuss our findings and next steps.
